The Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of the "International Anti-Corruption Day," with the aim of expanding fruitful cooperation with representatives of the private sector, supporting entrepreneurship, and improving the investment climate, held an International Forum under the auspices of "Countering Corruption in the Business Sector" on December 12, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dushanbe.

The primary goal of the forum was to draw public attention to issues of countering corruption in the private sector, its role in combating this negative phenomenon, discussing key industry issues, identifying modern approaches to corporate governance, ensuring transparency and integrity in business, as well as exchanging best practices in these areas.

The event featured speeches by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kholikzoda Khokim Khikmatullo, as well as heads of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, the Chamber of Accounts, the National Bank of Tajikistan, the Tax Committee, and the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, along with the Ombudsman for Human Rights.

In addition, the forum was attended by leaders and representatives from other ministries and agencies in the economic block, law enforcement and judicial bodies, a wide range of entrepreneurs, representatives of civil society, international organizations, faculty from higher professional educational institutions, employees of embassies of foreign states accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as invited guests from anti-corruption agencies of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, and Uzbekistan.

The forum consisted of 5 sessions, during which participants delivered reports on the discussed topics, including state anti-corruption policy in ensuring economic security, integrity and corporate governance in business, countering corruption using digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities, as well as international experience in this field.

The event was organized in a modern format, allowing, in addition to in-person participants, entrepreneurs, representatives of civil society, organizations, and leading international experts from more than 40 countries worldwide to join online.

The holding of this forum created opportunities for exchanging views between representatives of the private sector, government structures, development partners, and foreign guests on issues of countering corruption in the business sector, ways to address existing problems, and other topical matters.

Simultaneously, within the framework of the forum, the draft Code of Corporate Governance and the Action Plan for implementing the second phase of the State Strategy for Countering Corruption in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 (2026–2030) were presented.

It should be emphasized that the aforementioned regulatory documents will contribute to strengthening the process of countering corruption, including in the private sector, through the introduction of corporate governance mechanisms, elimination of corruption factors using information technologies and artificial intelligence, and overall will have a positive impact on reducing corruption levels in various spheres.

Thus, based on the forum's outcomes and the recommendations and proposals from participants, a recommendatory document—a Statement—was prepared, which, after coordination with participants, was made public.

Overall, the event was held at a high international level, and its results will contribute to showcasing on the international stage the consistent efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of combating corruption.
